The duration of nutrition therapy will vary widely depending on your unique needs. Amy frequently develops long-term relationships with her clients and works with them for 1 year or more. She will not continue to work with you if she does not believe she can help you.
-
To gain the most benefit from nutrition therapy, most clients attend sessions on a minimum weekly basis at the outset; Amy will reserve a weekly time just for you. However, any arrangement will be discussed and mutually agreed upon once work commences.
-
Amy works from a client-led dynamic; each 45-minute session is reserved for the client to discuss their specific goals, fears, progress, resistances, and feelings about the work we are doing. Amy offers recommendations based on her clinical experience, and also encourages clients to discuss the therapeutic dynamic and how it is or is not working for them.
-
Amy works virtually only, and sees her clients from her confidential home office in Morro Bay, CA via Zoom or phone.
-
Where appropriate, Amy utilizes tools like the virtual numberless scale MyClearStep, and its remote blood pressure/heart monitor tools. She also uses apps like Recovery Record and Nourishly for clients that require close monitoring of food intake. Regardless of monitoring strategy, Amy strongly recommends all clients have a medical clinician within driving distance to attend to health concerns and emergencies in person.
-
While Amy does not bill any insurance directly, she does provide clients a superbill at the end of each month to submit to insurance for potential reimbursement. Clients should take care to discuss reimbursement policies with their insurance prior to beginning treatment.
