Have you spent too much time trying to short-order cook for kids to avoid mealtime meltdowns? Are you concerned that your child is developing disordered eating behaviors? Would you like to have a healthier relationship with your child through feeding from the beginning? Learn how to navigate all this and more during our webinar Talking With Their Mouths Full, a 5-part series designed to provide relevant, applicable, evidence-based information to address feeding struggles in the home and other childcare environments.

A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for 18 years, Amy Isabella Chalker developed Talking With Their Mouths Full as a live workshop back in 2008. Since that time, she has presented dozens of times to parents and caregivers of children of all ages, from infancy through adulthood. In this inaugural webinar version, Amy is thrilled to introduce Krista Tarantino, Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, to address specific feeding needs and considerations in infancy.

In Session 1: Prenatal Feeding Considerations, Krista leads participants through questions parents-to-be can ask themselves before birth to prepare for the myriad elements of feeding infants, including how this stage sets the base for child-parent attachment and bonding, and frames the rest of the child’s food experiences throughout life.

In Session 2: Conscious Feeding for Infants, the conversation with Krista continues, as evidence-based theories are combined with practical strategies to inform how we think about and implement feeding infants and what their responses may be communicating to us in return.

Session 3: Conscious Feeding for Toddlers & Youth takes participants into perhaps the most volatile territory in a child’s development: the toddler and school-age years. Amy helps parents and caregivers explore how their own feeding imprints and behaviors are communicated to children and in turn how the consequences may impact the child-parent relationship and their relationship with food throughout the rest of their lives.

In Session 4: Conscious Feeding for Adolescents, Amy helps parents navigate the complicated transition from childhood to adulthood, as teens develop the autonomy and independence to feed themselves. Amy presents surprising evidence suggesting that the feeding role of parents and caregivers is not over when a child is able to cook/prep food for themselves, and will help parents learn how to intervene when disordered eating behaviors begin to emerge.

Finally, in the Session 5 Q & A, Amy and Krista come together to answer your burning questions, specific to your household or childcare environment. These questions are asked both publicly and anonymously and provide concrete, relatable material to discuss among attendees.

This webinar series is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the emotional and behavioral considerations of feeding across a lifespan; participants may purchase sessions “a la carte” or all 5 sessions at a discounted rate.

All purchasers will receive the session link(s) via email and will be able to view sessions without limitation, along with any public questions and discussion that takes place during it.

As clinicians with training rooted in science-based evidence, we do not embrace a particular diet or philosophy when it comes to the “what” of feeding. This webinar series focuses on the “how”, deciphering the often unconscious messages infants and children are receiving from parents and caregivers based on meal and snack structure, feeding language, and other unconscious biases.

Purchase your sessions below TODAY and join a timely conversation that speaks to larger epidemics, like the rise of obesity, mental illness and eating disorders, food politics, and the multi-billion dollar food industry.

This workshop series is also available to be presented live or virtually to your group, school, or organization, and tailored to audience interests and needs.
